Angela R. Lee

Instructional Designer & Learning Strategist

I help organizations across higher education, technology, corporate L&D, and business process improvement design learning experiences that actually change what people can do — not just what they know.

Angela R. Lee, Instructional Designer

01 — Background

10 years of designing for impact

I've spent 10 years at the intersection of pedagogy and design, partnering with faculty, L&D directors, product teams, and business leaders to build learning programs that move the needle on real outcomes.

My work spans higher education, technology companies, corporate learning & development, and business process improvement — from eLearning modules and instructional video series to full curriculum redesigns and performance support systems.

Whether I'm working with a university redesigning a STEM pathway, a tech company onboarding engineers, or an enterprise team streamlining process training, the approach is the same: evidence-based, outcome-driven, and built around the learner's real-world context.

02 — Philosophy

How I think about learning design

01

Outcomes first, always

Every project starts with a single question: what should learners be able to do differently? I work backward from that answer to build everything else.

02

Evidence-based, not trend-driven

I draw on cognitive load theory, backward design, and active learning research — not whatever's new in EdTech. Rigor over novelty.

03

Faculty as partners

The best instructional design happens in collaboration. I work alongside subject matter experts to honor their expertise while shaping it into experiences that actually teach.

04

Measure what matters

Completion rates, satisfaction scores, and knowledge checks are a start. I push for assessments that reveal genuine competency transfer.
